It's almost time for Camp

I'm finishing/editing my novel from November 2014 - my word count goal is set at 35K.

Camp starts on April 1 - if you're interested in participating, you can sign up on the Camp NaNo site. If you don't think you can get to 50K, no worries - you set your own word count, and it can be as low at 10K. Any form of writing is allowed - short stories, poetry, non-fiction, etc. - it's not limited to novels for Camp.

Is anyone else going to Camp next month??

It's been a few years since I did this, but I am attempting it again this year. Of course, I spent 2 months outlining and researching, only to change stories at the last minute. ;)

If you're a NaNo'er and want to add me as a buddy, my user name is (the very original) carelia. ;)

If you don't know, NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month (even tho it's international). Participants attempt to write a novel during the month of November (novel being defined as 50,000 words - if you're under 18, you can set your own word goal).

It's fun! Sign up! :)

Dreaming ...

of ... well, I would call it a "career change" if I'd ever had an actual career. ;) New adventure, maybe?

I am not ready to make the details public yet, but I am in the dreaming/planning stages of something that fits me better than pretty much anything else ever has. It combines some of my long-term interests, education, volunteer experience, and takes my physical issues into account. It would be a volunteer situation at first (2 years or so), but could eventually turn into paid work (this would largely depend on my physical ability - one reason it needs to be a volunteer situation for awhile is to see if I can maintain it with my medical issues, and if "reasonable accommodation" will be enough for my odd constellation of symptoms).

First step: funding the necessary equipment, so once that dream becomes reality, I'll be posting more details. ;)
